Man fatally shot inside Southeast DC residence early Tuesday morning
Washington, DC – A 31-year-old man was shot and killed just after midnight Tuesday inside a Southeast DC home, marking yet another fatal shooting under investigation in the city’s Anacostia corridor.
Just after 12:25 a.m., officers from the Sixth District were called to the 300 block of Anacostia Road SE following a report of gunfire. When they arrived, they found Franck Foute Mohdjiom inside the residence, unconscious but still breathing, with at least one gunshot wound.
DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and rushed the victim to a nearby hospital, but despite emergency medical efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Police have not released any details about a potential suspect or motive. No arrests had been made as of Wednesday morning.
The 300 block of Anacostia Road SE is a residential stretch located near Fort Dupont Park. The neighborhood has seen an increase in violent crime over recent months, with city officials pledging more patrols and community-based efforts in response.
Mohdjiom’s death adds to a growing list of homicides under active investigation across the District. The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case.
