WILKINSBURG, Pa. – Allegheny County homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that left one man dead Monday night in Wilkinsburg. Authorities said they received a 911 call around 8:42 p.m. reporting gunfire in the 700 block of South Avenue.
When first responders arrived, they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to the head in the roadway near the intersection of South Avenue and Center Avenue. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation and is working to determine what led to the shooting. The victim’s identity has not yet been released, and no arrests have been announced.
