PHILADELPHIA, PA – A man was wounded in an early morning shooting in the city’s 9th District, authorities said.

The 24-year-old victim was struck in the upper arm around 2 a.m. while on the highway near the 8XX block of Spring Garden Street.

He was later taken by private vehicle to Nazareth Hospital at 7:19 a.m., where he was listed in stable condition.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear as investigators continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses.

Members of the department’s Shooting Investigation Group are handling the case and have not released information on possible suspects or motives.

Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage from nearby cameras and urging anyone with information to come forward.
