Man sought after brutal water jug assault in Manhattan store

NEW YORK, NY – The NYPD is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted for an assault that left a 68-year-old store employee injured in Manhattan’s East Village. Investigators say the violent encounter happened Monday night inside a commercial business at 94 Avenue B.

According to police, the unidentified man became enraged during a purchase dispute around 10 p.m. The situation quickly escalated when the suspect grabbed a gallon jug of water and struck the employee in the face, causing pain, redness, and swelling before fleeing the scene on foot.

The attacker was last seen running northbound on Avenue B toward an unknown location. Detectives from the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers unit are now searching for leads, reviewing surveillance footage, and interviewing witnesses to identify the suspect.
