MANHATTAN, NY – Police are searching for a man who allegedly groped a woman on a busy Midtown street Saturday morning before fleeing the scene, authorities said.
The incident happened around 8:37 a.m. in front of 977 Eighth Avenue, within the Midtown North Precinct.
A 22-year-old woman told police she was approached from behind by an unidentified man who grabbed her buttocks.
The suspect then ran off, heading south on Eighth Avenue. No injuries were reported.

The NYPD described the suspect as a male with a dark complexion, last seen wearing a gray striped jacket, black sweatpants, and brown shoes. Investigators are reviewing nearby surveillance footage to identify him.
