Manchester officers take first place in law enforcement fitness challenge

MANCHESTER TWP., N.J. – Two Manchester Township police officers earned top honors this week after dominating a grueling law enforcement fitness competition at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.

Officers Taylor Schandall and Jordan Weed secured first place in the Women’s Division of the base’s annual Fit Challenge: Law Enforcement Edition. Organizers said the event tested endurance and strength through an eight-zone course, with each station separated by a quarter-mile run.

Police officials noted that Schandall and Weed’s finishing times were so strong they even surpassed some competitors in the men’s division, including participants from southern Ocean County agencies.

The annual challenge draws police officers and state law enforcement representatives from across New Jersey, pushing participants through demanding exercises designed to measure both speed and stamina.

The department praised the officers’ achievement, calling it an impressive display of skill and fitness.
