Manchester, NJ – A new community tradition was born this week when the Manchester Township Police Department held its first-ever K-9 “Pawsta Dinner,” raising thousands of dollars to support its K-9 Unit.
The Sept. 14 event, hosted at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, drew residents, local leaders, and volunteers in a show of support for the department’s working dogs. Funds raised will go directly toward equipment, training, and medical care for the K-9 partners.
Mayor Joseph Hankins and Councilwoman Drake attended the dinner, while Luigi’s Deli provided food for the evening. Manchester High School football coach Farrel and his players also pitched in, volunteering their time to help run the event.
The department credited the Kelliher family, the Manchester Police Athletic League, and community members for their generosity in making the fundraiser possible.
Police officials said the success of the inaugural dinner highlights the strong bond between the department and residents, and they plan to continue community-focused events in the future.
