WASHINGTON, D.C. — He’s being painted by the main stream media as a victim of an aggressive federal regime, but “Maryland Dad” and suspected MS-13 gang member, illegal alien Kilmar Abrego Garcia told his mother that he could kill his wife and nothing would happen to him.
Now, as the left continues their efforts to bring this violent wifebeating illegal migrant back to his home and his wife, the federal government has released a second order of protection filed by his own wife.
The Department of Homeland Security on Wednesday released new details confirming a second domestic abuse petition had been filed against Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an illegal immigrant and confirmed MS-13 gang member recently deported by federal authorities.
The 2020 petition, submitted by Garcia’s wife, Jennifer Vasquez, details multiple incidents of physical and emotional abuse over several months. Filed in the District Court of Maryland for Prince George’s County on August 3, 2020, the petition preceded a separate abuse filing Vasquez submitted in 2021.
“The facts are clear: Kilmar Abrego Garcia is a violent illegal alien who abuses women and children,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin in a statement. “We have now found two petitions for protection against him … Our country is safer with him gone.”
The earlier petition describes a pattern of escalating abuse, including allegations that Garcia kicked, slapped, and verbally assaulted Vasquez, detained her against her will, and locked her children in a room while they cried. It further states Garcia damaged property and violently pulled Vasquez by the hair in multiple incidents between 2019 and early 2020.
In the 2021 petition, Vasquez accused Garcia of bruising, punching, scratching her, and forcibly ripping off her clothing during another violent altercation.
DHS says media downplaying violence in case of deported “Maryland Dad”
DHS has reiterated that Garcia was known to authorities not only for domestic abuse but also for suspected involvement in human trafficking and for his gang affiliations. Officials confirmed Garcia is a documented member of MS-13, a criminal organization that federal law enforcement has prioritized for deportation.
Despite the severity of the allegations and Garcia’s criminal profile, DHS criticized what it described as media efforts to portray Garcia as a sympathetic figure, referring to his popular moniker in some reports as the “Maryland Dad.”
“The media continues to call him a victim while ignoring the real victims: the women he battered, the children he terrorized, and the communities he endangered,” DHS stated in its release.
Federal authorities have not disclosed additional charges filed against Garcia beyond the protection orders. However, they emphasized that his deportation was part of an ongoing crackdown on violent offenders unlawfully residing in the U.S.
Garcia was removed from the country earlier this year as part of an immigration enforcement action initiated during President Trump’s first 100 days in office.
The August 2020 domestic abuse petition against Garcia is now public and adds to the case DHS is building to support its immigration removal policies.
