ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Two Maryland residents were charged with the burglary of a federal firearms licensee, conspiracy to steal firearms, and interstate transportation of stolen firearms and vehicles, following a federal grand jury indictment.
Cedric Minger, 21, and Victor Jones, 22, are accused of stealing more than 50 firearms from Dominion Defense in Springfield, Virginia, on April 29. The indictment details that Minger and Jones, alongside two co-conspirators, traveled in a stolen Acura ILX from Washington, D.C. to the gun store. They allegedly broke the store’s exterior glass door and, after a struggle to bypass the interior door, Minger reportedly shot at the door and eventually made his way through an opening to steal the firearms, including pistols, rifles, and silencers, before fleeing back to D.C.
Furthermore, the indictment outlines additional attempted burglaries by Minger and Jones, including efforts to burglarize Engage Armament in Rockville, Maryland, on April 30, and an attempt on Top Gun Firearms in Fallston, Maryland, on May 10, utilizing a stolen Nissan Sentra for transportation. They also face charges related to the possession and interstate transportation of stolen vehicles.
If convicted, both men could receive up to five years in prison for conspiracy to steal firearms from federal firearms licensees and up to ten years for each count of the other charges. Sentences will be determined by a federal judge, taking into account the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other factors.
