$4 million Mega Millions ticket sold at mini mart in Butler County
Cranberry Township, PA – A Mega Millions player in Butler County just became a multimillionaire after purchasing a ticket worth $4 million for the January 2 drawing, with the lucky numbers sold at a local mini mart.
The Pennsylvania Lottery announced Monday that a winning ticket matching all five white balls—6, 13, 34, 43, and 52—was sold at Gordon’s Mini Mart, located at 2620 Rochester Road in Cranberry Township. The ticket did not match the yellow Mega Ball number 4 but included the optional Megaplier, which boosted the $1 million prize to $4 million.
The retailer will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
Lottery officials have not yet identified the winner, as prizes must be claimed and tickets validated. Pennsylvania Lottery winners have one year from the date of the drawing to come forward. Players who purchased their tickets in-store are urged to sign the back of their tickets immediately.
More than 10,000 other Pennsylvania players won smaller prizes from the same drawing, according to the Lottery.
The Mega Millions jackpot now climbs to an estimated $180 million annuity—or $81.9 million cash option—for the next drawing scheduled Tuesday, January 6.
Mega Millions is played in 45 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Tickets can be purchased online or through licensed Lottery retailers across Pennsylvania.
