Miami, FL – A 38-year-old Minnesota mother was arrested after allegedly tackling a teenager on a Carnival Cruise ship. The incident occurred on Sunday while the cruise was docked in Florida.
Paetra Grandsberry was reportedly frustrated after a group of teenagers allegedly attacked her two sons. As she spoke with a security guard regarding the matter, Grandsberry ran after a group of children, claiming one of them had struck her sons.
Witnesses say Grandsberry tackled one teen and instructed her children to assist her. The boy managed to break free and return to safety.
Grandsberry later informed police that she realized she had mistakenly identified the teen as one of the attackers. Upon her arrest, she was charged with child abuse without great bodily harm.
Following the incident, deputies from the Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office detained Grandsberry. The teenager involved stated that he did not seek medical attention after the alleged attack.
Grandsberry was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where she remains on a $2,500 bond.
