Group sought after violent overnight carjacking in Northwest DC
WASHINGTON, DC – A group of suspects is on the run after a carjacking early Sunday morning near the intersection of 12th Street and Q Street NW, where a trio of primary suspects and up to five others reportedly carried out the crime.
At approximately 2:19 a.m., Metropolitan Police Department units responded to the scene after receiving reports of a carjacking in progress. Witnesses described the suspects as follows:
- Suspect 1: Black female, light complected, wearing a blue baseball cap, blue vest, and light blue jeans
- Suspect 2: Black female, light complected, wearing a green jacket, had curly hair, light blue jeans, and large furry black boots
- Suspect 3: Black male, approximately 6 feet tall, dark complected, wearing a gray jacket and black jeans
The three were accompanied by four to five additional individuals whose descriptions have not yet been released. No injuries were reported, and there is no word yet on whether a weapon was used during the incident.
The vehicle involved has not been recovered as of early Monday morning, and the suspects remain at large.
