New Jersey High School Warns Students About New Public Urination Viral Video Trend

by Shore News Network

Barnegat, NJ – Administrators at Barnegat High School issued an urgent letter to families Monday after learning that a disturbing social media trend involving students filming themselves urinating on school property has surfaced locally.

Principal Patrick Magce confirmed the high school is working with the Barnegat Police Department to identify anyone involved.

The letter, sent October 6 to district families, calls the act “completely reprehensible,” warning that students who participate, attempt to participate, or even simulate involvement will face serious disciplinary consequences — including suspension, removal from school, and potential referral to law enforcement.

The memo also extends penalties to students who “follow, share, repost, or promote” videos related to the trend. Administrators emphasized that such online behavior poses major safety and health risks to students, staff, and the public.

Parents are urged to talk with their children about the dangers of viral challenges and the real-world impact of social media actions. “Online trends that harm others, break the law, or damage property have serious consequences,” Magce wrote.

Barnegat police have not yet announced any arrests but confirmed they are coordinating closely with the district.
