Burlington County ticket wins $250,000 in Powerball Double Play drawing
TRENTON, NJ — A Powerball Double Play ticket sold in Burlington County hit for $250,000 during Monday night’s drawing, according to the New Jersey Lottery.
The winning ticket was purchased at Hartford Market, located at 88 Hartford Road in Delran. The player matched five numbers in the Double Play drawing: 02, 09, 25, 26, and 63. The Double Play ball was 08. The player did not match the Double Play ball, missing out on the $10 million top prize but still securing a significant payout.
The Double Play feature gives players a second chance to win using the same numbers from their Powerball ticket. Players must opt in to the feature when purchasing their ticket.
No tickets won the top prize in the Double Play or main Powerball drawing, pushing the main jackpot up to $209 million for the next draw on Wednesday.
Since its inception in 1970, the New Jersey Lottery has returned nearly $34.7 billion to the state, supporting a variety of programs and currently contributing to the public employee pension system under a 30-year funding plan.
