Police search for suspect who used stolen bank card after wallet theft at Newark Burlington store
Newark, NJ – Newark police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect accused of using a stolen bank card to make purchases after a woman’s wallet was taken from her shopping cart at a Burlington store in December.
According to Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., the incident occurred on December 16, 2025, at approximately 11:30 a.m. at the Burlington location in the 700 block of Mayor Kenneth A. Gibson Boulevard. The victim told police she had placed her purse in a shopping cart while shopping, and at some point, her wallet was taken without her noticing.
Surveillance footage later captured the suspect making purchases with the victim’s bank card at the same location.

Investigators released images of the suspect and are now urging the public to assist in identifying the individual. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Newark Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All tips are anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward.
