Gunman in white Dodge Charger wanted after late-night shooting on Mulberry Street

NEWARK, NJ — A burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of a Thursday night in Newark’s Ironbound section, when a man armed with a handgun opened fire just before midnight, then disappeared into the night in a distinctive white Dodge Charger with black detailing.

The shooting unfolded at approximately 11:32 p.m. on November 13, in the 500 block of Mulberry Street. The city’s ShotSpotter system recorded the sound of multiple gunshots, prompting a rapid police response. Surveillance footage later confirmed that the suspect fired several rounds before fleeing westbound on Emmet Street and entering a white Dodge Charger.

The vehicle was last seen heading south on McCarter Highway from Murray Street. It features a black stripe on the hood, a black roof, a rear wing, and a partially black trunk design.

The shooter wore dark clothing and a pair of black, grey, and white Retro Air Jordan sneakers. While no injuries were reported, officers recovered four 9mm shell casings during a search of the area.
