NEWARK, NJ – The Newark Department of Public Safety is actively seeking public assistance in locating a vehicle implicated in an armed robbery incident. Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé has issued a request for information regarding a white 2017 Toyota Highlander, bearing New Jersey registration number C18KSF.
The incident occurred on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at around 6:51 a.m. A male victim was walking in the 100 block of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard when he was confronted by an armed individual. The assailant, described as approximately 5’10” tall, 170 pounds, with a light complexion, and dressed entirely in black with a face mask, brandished a handgun and robbed the victim of personal belongings.
Following the robbery, the suspect fled the scene in the Toyota Highlander, which was previously reported stolen from Irvington on December 9, 2023. Detectives are diligently working on this case and emphasize the urgency in locating the vehicle to identify and apprehend the suspect.
