Newark police seek two suspects in West Market Street shooting

NEWARK, NJ – Newark police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two men wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred late last month on West Market Street, officials announced.

According to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr., officers responded around 7:44 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, after a ShotSpotter alert detected gunfire in the 300 block of W. Market Street. When police arrived, they found no victims at the scene but recovered shell casings and a cell phone as evidence.

Investigators have since released images of two male suspects believed to be involved in the incident. Authorities did not disclose additional details about the shooting or whether it resulted in any injuries.

Director Miranda is urging anyone with information about the suspects’ identities to contact the Newark Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All tips can remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.
