Authorities are asking for the public’s help locating a woman investigators want to question about a February shooting that left a man hospitalized.

Newark, NJ – Newark police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a woman wanted for questioning in connection with a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in the city’s North Ward. The incident happened around 3:05 a.m. near Abington Avenue and Clifton Avenue, according to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr. Officers responded to reports of gunfire and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

Responding officers located the injured man at the scene and immediately began providing medical aid until emergency medical crews arrived.

The victim was then transported to University Hospital in Newark for treatment. Authorities said the man is currently listed in stable condition.

Police searching for woman in connection with case

Detectives investigating the shooting are attempting to locate Christina Guzman, who is wanted for questioning about the incident.

Officials have not released additional details about her potential involvement but say investigators believe she may have information relevant to the case.
