Newburgh, NY – A Powerball player in Newburgh picked up a $50,000 third-tier prize in the December 17 drawing after purchasing a lucky ticket at a neighborhood retailer.

The New York Lottery confirmed the winning ticket was sold at SMOKES 4 LESS, located at 59 North Plank Road. The ticket matched four of the five white balls along with the red Powerball, securing the $50,000 prize.

The New York Lottery, which contributed $3.6 billion to support public schools statewide in fiscal year 2024–2025, continues to operate as the largest and most profitable lottery in North America.
