Newport News man charged in armed robbery at Truist Bank on Denbigh Boulevard
Newport News, VA — A 38-year-old man already in custody for an unrelated case is now facing multiple charges in connection with an October armed robbery at a Newport News bank, police announced this week.
After a detailed investigation, the Newport News Police Department charged Curtis Adam Robertson with robbery and several related felony offenses stemming from the October 29 robbery at the Truist Bank in the 300 block of Denbigh Boulevard.
Investigators say Robertson entered the bank armed with the intent to commit larceny. He was charged with entering a bank while armed, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of burglary tools, and petit larceny.

Robertson was formally served with the warrants on December 12 while already being held at the Newport News Jail on separate charges. Police did not release further details about the amount stolen or whether any employees or customers were harmed during the incident.
The charges are still pending trial. All individuals arrested are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
