NEW YORK CITY, NY — The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the whereabouts of approximately five individuals connected to a series of robberies. These incidents across Brooklyn and Queens and appear to be connected.
On July 25, in Brooklyn, a 33-year-old male parked his 2018 Hyundai Sonata near Boone Avenue and East 173 Street. The vehicle was missing when he returned on July 26. Surveillance video showed three individuals were present during the theft.
On July 26, in Queens, a 23-year-old male was approached by three individuals at 87-39 164 Street. One displayed a firearm while another forcibly took the victim’s chain. All three individuals fled in the previously stolen 2018 Hyundai Sonata, operated by a fourth individual. The vehicle was last seen going southbound on 164 Street.
On July 26, in Queens, a 43-year-old male was approached by five individuals in front of 125-00 Northern Boulevard. One displayed a firearm and two others took the victim’s chain, wallet containing approximately $2,500, cellphone, and a designer watch. The individuals fled in the same 2018 Hyundai Sonata, last seen going westbound onto the Grand Central Parkway.
The stolen vehicle was recovered unoccupied on August 15 in Brooklyn.
