Ocean County consumer affairs director elected president of statewide consumer protection group

TOMS RIVER, NJ – Ocean County’s Director of Consumer Affairs, Ronald Heinzman, has been elected to a three-year term as president of the County and Municipal Consumer Agencies (CAMCA), following the organization’s year-end meeting held Dec. 19 in Toms River.

Heinzman, who served as CAMCA’s 2025 president, will continue to lead the statewide network of local consumer protection offices through 2028. The association brings together county and municipal consumer agencies to coordinate enforcement efforts and share strategies for protecting New Jersey residents from fraud and deceptive business practices.

Other officers re-elected during the session include Hudson County Counsel Alberico De Pierro as vice president, Cape May County Senior Investigator Dolores Rambo as board treasurer, and Ocean County Assistant Superintendent of Weights and Measures Cody Wilber as recording secretary.

Commissioner Robert S. Arace, liaison to the Ocean County Department of Consumer Affairs, attended the event and offered congratulations to the board and appreciation to all participating agencies, including the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs, for their work educating and protecting residents. Arace is expected to administer the official swearing-in ceremony for the new 2026 CAMCA Board in the coming weeks.

Deputy Ocean County Administrator Tristin Collins and Assemblyman Gregory P. McGuckin also attended the meeting, with McGuckin addressing county and state officials about improving communication on constituent referrals from legislative offices.
