Officer-Involved Shooting and Domestic Dispute in Garfield Neighborhood

Pittsburgh, PA – The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is currently investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred in the Garfield neighborhood of Pittsburgh.

At approximately 11:03 AM today, County 9-1-1 dispatched Pittsburgh Police to the 4900 block of Kincaid Street following reports of a female assaulted during a domestic dispute and an armed 20-year-old male at the location.

An officer arrived at the scene at 11:11 AM and encountered the armed male outside the residence. The suspect fired multiple rounds at the officer, who then returned fire, striking the male multiple times. The male was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition. The female victim suffered facial injuries during the initial assault.

Detectives have begun a thorough investigation into the incident, which will be reviewed by the district attorney’s office upon completion.
