Cuyahoga Falls man stuns himself with $2 million Cashword lottery win from $30 ticket
CUYAHOGA FALLS, OH — A Cuyahoga Falls resident is holding a life-changing ticket after scratching all 14 words on a $30 $2,000,000 Cashword game and unlocking a jackpot worth $80,000 per year for 25 years.
The lucky winner bought the ticket at GET GO #3036 on State Road while heading home from work and scratched it inside his car. Initially confused by the prize amount — which didn’t match any standard payout on the ticket — he tried scanning it using the Ohio Lottery app. When the app failed to confirm the prize, he scanned it at the store and then at two additional locations to be sure.
Eventually, he realized he had landed one of the game’s top prizes and chose the lump sum cash option. After taxes, he will receive $728,750.
The winner plans to use the money to pay off existing debts, invest for the future, and take a family vacation. His win adds to the long list of major Cashword prizes awarded this year.
The $2,000,000 Cashword scratch-off offers players a variety of ways to win. As of November 13, three top prizes and 14 second-tier $100,000 prizes remain. The overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.37.
The Ohio Lottery reports that since 1974, it has contributed over $34 billion to support education across the state.
