Wilmington woman hits $300K jackpot on $10 scratch-off at gas station

WILMINGTON, OH – A quick stop at a local gas station turned into a six-figure windfall when a lucky customer scratched her way to a $300,000 top prize on the Ohio Lottery’s $10 Mystery Multiplier game.

The winning ticket was sold at True North #724, located off U.S. Route 68 in Wilmington. The unidentified winner overcame long odds of 1 in 416,666 to claim the game’s highest payout. After federal and state tax withholdings, she will take home about $216,000.

The Ohio Lottery confirmed the win on Monday, adding that the store will receive a $3,000 bonus for selling the lucky ticket.

Despite the major win, there are still 10 top prizes left in circulation, according to lottery officials. The $10 Mystery Multiplier scratch-off offers overall winning odds of 1 in 3.06, with a variety of prize levels still available.

True North #724, a convenience store and gas station, is now among a growing list of lucky retailers across Ohio benefiting from big-ticket lottery wins.

Since its inception in 1974, the Ohio Lottery has contributed more than $34 billion to education in the state. The Mystery Multiplier game remains a popular option for scratch-off players looking for a shot at a large payout without spending more than $10 per ticket.
