One Busted, One on Run in Bear Armed Robbery

BEAR, Del. — Delaware State Police have arrested 37-year-old Calvin Williams of Newark in connection with an armed robbery and carjacking last month in the parking lot of the Salem Center on Pulaski Highway.

Troopers say that on May 19, Williams and 20-year-old Daviel Aviles of Middletown confronted the victim during an argument. Aviles allegedly displayed a handgun, and the two suspects then stole the victim’s vehicle and fled.

Williams was taken into custody without incident during a search warrant operation on May 30 and has been charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree conspiracy. He is being held on a $65,000 cash bond at Howard R. Young Correctional Institution.

Search continues for second suspect

Aviles remains at large, with felony warrants issued by both Delaware State Police and Middletown Police.

Anyone with information on Aviles’ whereabouts is urged to contact Detective D. Patterson at (302) 365-8404, or submit tips anonymously via Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.

The investigation by Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Detectives is ongoing.
