Gunfire leaves one dead and another wounded on Baltimores north side

Baltimore, MD – A burst of gunfire shattered the calm of a north Baltimore neighborhood late Friday night, leaving one man dead and another injured as detectives worked through the hours to determine what sparked the violence.

Officers were dispatched at approximately 9:02 p.m. to the 600 block of Woodbourne Avenue following reports of a shooting. At the scene, a 36-year-old man was found suffering from a gunshot wound.

While canvassing the surrounding area, officers located a second male with a gunshot wound. That individual, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Homicide detectives responded and assumed control of the investigation as evidence was collected and the area was secured. No suspect information has been released, and the circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation.
