Overnight lane closures coming to Swimming River Road for bridge project

TINTON FALLS, NJ – Drivers in Tinton Falls should expect overnight traffic restrictions this week as crews continue work on the next stage of the Swimming River Road bridge construction project.

Police said beginning Monday night, November 17, traffic along Swimming River Road between Majestic South and Grant Court will be reduced to a single lane.

The restriction will be in place nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Wednesday, November 19.

Stage 2 of bridge construction to begin

The lane closure will allow contractors to implement a new traffic pattern marking the start of Stage 2 of the multi-phase bridge construction project. Flaggers will be on site to direct traffic, and motorists should expect minor delays in the area during the overnight hours.

Officials are advising drivers to use caution while traveling through the work zone and to follow all posted signs and directions from traffic control personnel.

Motorists urged to plan alternate routes

The Tinton Falls Police Department said local access to homes and businesses will be maintained throughout the project, but detours may be necessary at times. Drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes where possible to avoid congestion.

The department thanked residents for their patience as work continues to improve infrastructure and traffic flow along the heavily traveled corridor.
