Pedestrian in wheelchair killed in Northwest DC hit-and-run crash

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A pedestrian in a wheelchair was fatally struck by a vehicle early Sunday morning at the intersection of 8th Street and Florida Avenue, Northwest, in a tragic hit-and-run crash.

The incident occurred around 5:44 a.m. on Nov. 10 when a black sedan traveling eastbound on Florida Avenue hit the victim, who was crossing outside of a designated crosswalk. The driver fled the scene, leaving the pedestrian critically injured.

The victim, identified as 40-year-old Brianna Anderson of no fixed address, was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
