Piscataway Man Arrested After Investigation Into Child Sexual Abuse Material

Authorities say investigators discovered more than 1,000 files of child sexual abuse material during an investigation triggered by a cyber-tip.

Piscataway, NJ – A Piscataway man has been arrested following an investigation into the possession of child sexual abuse material, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Linda Estremera and Piscataway Public Safety Director Keith Stith.

Michael Bain, 55, of Piscataway Township, was arrested March 11 after investigators received a cyber-tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Cyber-tip led to investigation

The investigation was conducted by Detective Sean Morelli of the Piscataway Township Police Department.

Authorities said the probe began after a cyber-tip referral was received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Investigators allege Bain possessed more than 1,000 items of child sexual abuse material.

Arrest made at Piscataway home

Members of the Piscataway Township Detective Bureau, assisted by the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, arrested Bain at his home without incident.

Following the execution of a search warrant at the residence, Bain was charged with second-degree possession of child sexual abuse material.

Suspect held in county jail

Bain was transported to the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Facility where he remains held pending Central Judicial Processing.

Authorities said the investigation remains active and ongoing.
