Wilkes-Barre man arrested after alleged assault during domestic dispute

Wilkes-Barre, PA – A 57-year-old man is facing charges after police say he assaulted a woman during a domestic dispute late Sunday night on South Franklin Street.

According to police, officers were dispatched to a residence around 9:48 p.m. on September 14 following reports of a disturbance. When they arrived, a 38-year-old woman told officers that she had been involved in a verbal altercation with the defendant, identified as Marion Gause.

The woman reported that during the argument, Gause struck her multiple times with a closed fist before throwing her to the ground. She was able to speak with officers when they arrived on the scene.

Gause was taken into custody without further incident and transported to Wilkes-Barre City Police Headquarters for processing and arraignment.
