FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — A 43-year-old Florham Park woman has been charged with murder and child endangerment following the drowning death of a 3-year-old girl earlier this month, officials announced Tuesday.
Jeanine Glass was arrested after being released from a hospital and is being held at the Morris County Correctional Facility. She faces charges of first-degree murder and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child in connection with the July 6 incident.
Police responded to a residence on Woods End Road at approximately 10:41 p.m. on July 6 after receiving a report of an unresponsive woman. Responding officers found Glass semi-conscious and wet on the first floor of the home. She was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
While at the home, officers accompanied a family member upstairs and discovered the unresponsive child face down in a bathroom tub filled with several inches of water. The girl was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
A postmortem examination by the Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office remains pending.
