Police fear missing Toledo children taken to Japan by mother

TOLEDO, OH – Two children reported missing in Toledo since 2009 are still thought to be in Japan, according to the Toledo Police Department.

Although they were taken back in 2009, the children would now be 16 and 20 years old, Toledo police have not abandoned the case to figure out what happened to them.

“On 1/14/2009 2 year-old Riki Duke and 6 year-old Shanonyuma Ishida were reported missing by their father. It is believed that the children’s mother took them to Japan,” police said today in a missing person cold case bulletin. “Riki is a white female with brown hair and brown eyes. Shanonyuma is a white male with brown hair and brown eyes.”

Police say the children were abducted by their mother against the will of their father, Jessie Duke.
