Masked suspect flees after broad daylight shooting near Maryland Avenue in Southwest DC
WASHINGTON, DC — A shooting near 600 Maryland Avenue SW on Friday afternoon left police searching for two suspects after a man was reportedly gunned down in broad daylight and fled toward 6th Street, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
MPD officers responded around 1:30 p.m. to reports of gunfire in the area. A lookout was issued for two Black male suspects. The first suspect is described as approximately 5’6″ with a slim build, wearing a gray hoodie, gray pants, a white ski mask, and carrying a black bookbag. He was last seen heading southbound on 300 6th Street SW.
Police have not released any information on injuries or a potential victim. Investigators remain on scene gathering evidence, canvassing for witnesses, and reviewing nearby surveillance footage.
