Newark– Delaware State Police are investigating the robbery of a Newark area convenience store that occurred this morning.
At approximately 9:37 a.m., Saturday, February 5, 2022, troopers responded to the Dash In, located at 1148 Christiana Road, Newark, for an armed robbery. The investigation determined a male suspect entered the store and confronted an employee behind the sales counter. The suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money from the cash register. The employee complied and the suspect fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect was last seen running towards the rear of the business onto westbound Greentree Road.
The suspect was described as a white male in his mid-20’s to early 30’s, approximately 5’10”-6’ tall, wearing all dark clothing, a mask, and armed with a black handgun. There are no surveillance images available at this time, police said.
