Police nab suspect after fake-gun holdup on Furnace Branch Road

Suspect arrested after armed robbery attempt in Glen Burnie

GLEN BURNIE, Md. – A 24-year-old man was arrested Wednesday evening after police said he and another suspect tried to rob a man at gunpoint on Furnace Branch Road East.

The attempted robbery happened around 7:15 p.m. when the victim told officers two men approached and demanded money. One of them pulled what appeared to be a handgun, but the victim refused to hand anything over.

Arrest and recovery

Officers quickly found the suspects nearby and recovered a bag containing two replica firearms. The man identified as displaying the gun, Robert James Scott, 24, of Glen Burnie, was taken into custody.

The second suspect has been identified, and police said charges are pending as the investigation continues.

Ongoing case

No injuries were reported in the attempted robbery. Detectives from the Northern District are leading the investigation under case number 25-733635.
