Police promote Halloween safety at Princeton Shopping Center

PRINCETON, NJ – Police officers set up at the Princeton Shopping Center on Thursday, engaging the community from 10 AM to 2 PM to promote Halloween safety and share safety tips for pedestrians and drivers. The effort aims to ensure that the Halloween season remains enjoyable, focusing on safety rather than traffic hazards.

Community sponsors, including Bagel Nook, Caffe by Illy, and Belle Journée, supported the initiative by providing free drink coupons to recognize safe behavior. These efforts are part of the #StreetSmartNJ campaign to enhance awareness about road safety during the Halloween festivities.

Individuals unable to attend the event can participate in the Street Smart Quiz available on the Princeton Police Department’s website. Completing the quiz provides an opportunity to win a $100 Amazon gift card, which is sponsored by Greater Mercer TMA.

“Spooky season should only be scary for the decorations, not our streets,” said the police department in their announcement.

Residents were encouraged to stop by the event and show their traffic awareness. Social media hashtags such as #BeStreetSmart, #PrincetonPD, #HalloweenSafety, and #VisionZero are part of the campaign initiative to promote safer streets and pedestrian practices.

The police department emphasized the importance of community involvement in enhancing safety during high-traffic events. With Halloween around the corner, this initiative aims to foster a safer festive environment for everyone.

Police are committed to reducing risks during the Halloween season and promoting awareness within the community.
