Police seek suspect in subway groping incident at Franklin Avenue station

BROOKLYN, NY – The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying a man accused of groping a woman as she exited a northbound “C” train at the Franklin Avenue subway station Monday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 2:27 p.m. on October 13 within the confines of the 79th Precinct and Transit District 30.

Police said a 41-year-old woman was leaving the train when an unidentified man approached her from behind and forcibly grabbed her buttocks and private area over her clothing.

The suspect then fled the station on foot.

Victim not physically injured

The victim was not physically injured during the encounter, authorities said. Detectives immediately began reviewing station surveillance footage in an effort to identify the suspect.

Police release description of suspect

The individual being sought is described as a male with a dark complexion and glasses. He was last seen wearing a white jacket, blue baseball cap, cargo pants, and white and red sneakers.
