GAITHERSBURG, MD – Detectives with the Montgomery County Department of Police have released surveillance footage showing a person of interest connected to the homicide of an 87-year-old man at a senior living community in Potomac last weekend. Investigators say the suspect remains unidentified and are asking for the public’s help.
Authorities say the deadly shooting occurred on the morning of Saturday, February 14, at the Cogir Potomac Senior Living facility on the 10800 block of Potomac Tennis Lane. When officers arrived, they discovered Robert Fuller Jr., 87, dead from a gunshot wound to the head inside his apartment. The Montgomery County Medical Examiner ruled his death a homicide.
Detectives with the Major Crimes Division obtained video showing an unidentified individual walking on the property around the time of the shooting. The suspect’s face is not clearly visible, and police say it’s unclear whether the person is male or female. Investigators believe identifying the suspect’s clothing or mannerisms could be key to solving the case.
The video, released Friday, shows the person dressed in dark clothing and moving through the complex near Fuller’s residence. Police hope members of the public will recognize the clothing, gait, or any other distinctive features.
