Powerball Jackpot Soars to Third Highest at $1.2 Billion

TRENTON, NJ – The Powerball jackpot has swelled to $1.2 billion, making it the third largest in the game’s history and the first instance of consecutive billion-dollar prize pools.

The jackpot has grown through 32 drawings without a winner since July 19, when a ticket purchased in California secured a $1.08 billion payout. The next drawing, slated for tomorrow, will feature the current $1.2 billion prize.

James Carey, New Jersey Lottery Executive Director, commented on the occasion, stating, “We always hope one of our lucky players hits the jackpot in New Jersey,” “The excitement of a massive jackpot like this is unmatched, and we always
