Repeat offender locked up after probation violation in Cumberland

Cumberland, MD — A Maryland man is back behind bars after authorities say he violated the terms of his probation tied to prior drug charges.

Christopher Todd Ellsworth, 37, of Mount Savage, was taken into custody April 18 after Cumberland Police served a bench warrant for failure to comply with probation conditions.

The warrant stems from earlier charges involving possession of controlled dangerous substances and possession with intent to distribute narcotics.

Ellsworth was transported to Central Booking and later appeared before a District Court Commissioner, who ordered him held without bond at the Allegany Detention Center.
