Queens teen shot and killed inside Jamaica home, police investigating

QUEENS, NY – An 18-year-old man was fatally shot Thursday morning inside a residence on 108th Avenue in Jamaica, according to police.

The victim, identified as Jonathan Adams of 228th Street, was struck in the head around 10:45 a.m.

He was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Police search for shooter

Officers from the 103rd Precinct responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting at 172-09 108th Avenue. Upon arrival, they found Adams with a gunshot wound and learned that the suspected shooter had fled the scene. No arrests have been made.

Investigation ongoing in Jamaica neighborhood

Detectives remained at the location through the afternoon, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses as they work to determine a motive and identify the gunman. Authorities have not released any suspect description.

The NYPD is urging anyone with information related to the shooting to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
