TRENTON, N.J. — Stacey Fiore of Barnegat, Ocean County, has claimed a $1 million Powerball prize from Saturday’s drawing after purchasing her winning ticket at the Quick Stop on Bay Avenue.
Fiore, a longtime lottery player, discovered her win on Monday using the New Jersey Lottery app. The ticket matched five numbers—11, 24, 50, 56, and 66—falling short only on the Powerball number. No other ticket matched all five numbers, making Fiore the sole $1 million winner from the drawing.
This marks the 39th time this year that a New Jersey Lottery draw game player has won at least $1 million, including 10 Powerball winners. Fiore purchased the ticket during a routine visit to her local store, unaware it would lead to such a substantial payout.
Fiore and her husband, Greg, who both work for New York City’s MTA, visited the Lottery offices together to collect the prize. The couple, married for over three decades, does not have immediate plans for their winnings but indicated they might use the money for a vacation.
The Powerball jackpot has now risen to $130 million for this Saturday’s drawing, with Fiore’s win adding excitement to New Jersey’s strong history of lottery success.
