Rider slashed after argument erupts on Queens bus

Queens, NY – A 59-year-old woman was attacked aboard a southbound Q44 bus in Jamaica on Wednesday evening after a heated argument with an unidentified passenger escalated into violence, police said.

The incident unfolded around 5:05 p.m. near the intersection of Merrick Boulevard and Archer Avenue. Investigators said the suspect began arguing with the woman before throwing a punch and pulling out a knife. The assailant then slashed the victim’s arm, leaving her with a laceration.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene and transported the woman to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where she was listed in stable condition.

The attacker fled the bus on foot and remains at large. Police have not released a description of the suspect, and no arrests have been made.
