Robbery reported near Barracks Row as MPD searches for suspect
WASHINGTON, DC — Police are investigating a robbery that occurred late Wednesday night in the 500 block of 8th Street SE, near the popular Barracks Row corridor.
The Metropolitan Police Department said officers from the First District responded to the incident at approximately 10:40 p.m. on January 15, 2026. The suspect fled the area shortly after the robbery and was last seen heading northbound in the 400 block of 7th Street SE.
The suspect is described as a Black male wearing dark clothing. No injuries were reported, and no further details have been released.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
