Manchester Township, NJ – Tuesday morning commuters are encountering traffic delays at two locations across New Jersey, including a crash on Route 495 in Hudson County and a downed utility pole that has closed part of Route 70 in Ocean County.
Authorities are urging drivers to use caution and expect delays while emergency crews work to clear both incidents.
Crash blocks lane on Route 495 in Union City
As of 9:07 a.m., a crash on westbound Route 495, east of Kennedy Boulevard in Union City, was blocking the right lane.
Traffic was moving through the remaining lanes, but motorists traveling toward the Lincoln Tunnel and surrounding roadways should anticipate slowdowns during the morning commute.
Route 70 partially closed in Manchester Township
Earlier Tuesday morning, at approximately 8:53 a.m., officials reported a downed utility pole on Route 70 east of Route 37 in Manchester Township.
All eastbound lanes remain closed, while only one of the two westbound lanes is open to traffic. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes until utility crews complete repairs and the roadway can fully reopen.
Motorists should remain alert for emergency responders and utility personnel working in both areas.
