Two winning TAKE 5 tickets sold at same Brooklyn liquor store on New Year’s Eve
BROOKLYN, NY — A Brooklyn liquor store ended the year with a double dose of luck after selling not one, but two top-prize winning TAKE 5 tickets for the December 31 evening drawing — each worth more than $18,000.
According to the New York Lottery, both winning tickets were sold at Adams Liquors, located at 1271 Sutter Avenue in Brooklyn. Each ticket matched all five numbers drawn, earning a top prize payout of $18,176.50.
The TAKE 5 game draws numbers twice daily, selecting five numbers from a pool of 1 through 39. Top-prize winnings vary based on the number of tickets sold and winners in each drawing.
Officials did not say whether the two winning tickets were purchased by the same player or by different individuals. Winners have up to one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.
This marks another strong showing for Brooklyn in the New York Lottery’s daily games, as local retailers continue to deliver winning tickets to lucky players across the borough.
The New York Lottery remains North America’s largest and most profitable lottery system, contributing billions each year to fund public education across the state.
