Halethorpe regular scores 50000 dollar scratch off jackpot after years of playing
BALTIMORE, MD – A longtime Maryland Lottery player from Halethorpe is celebrating a 50000 dollar windfall after scratching his way to one of the top prizes in the 50,000 Cash game.
The semi-retired resident claimed his prize Thursday at Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore after purchasing the 20 dollar scratch-off ticket at a local convenience store.
Lottery officials said the player has participated in Maryland Lottery games for many years and previously won five-digit prizes. He maintains a set budget for lottery purchases and continues to play regularly.
The winning ticket was purchased at the 7-Eleven located at 1313 Francis Avenue in Halethorpe. The retailer will receive a 500 dollar bonus for selling the top-prize ticket.
The 50,000 Cash scratch-off game went on sale in December 2022. As of Thursday, 56 of the game’s 50000 dollar top prizes remained unclaimed, along with thousands of additional prizes ranging from 20 dollars to 5000 dollars.
