MIDDLETOWN, NJ (OP-ED) – There must be some ‘wacky tobaccy’ being passed around Middletown as GOP school board member Jacqueline Tobacco, who has been stumping for Jack Ciattarelli chose to pick a fight with Ciattarelli’s opponent, Bill Spadea.
Tobacco, who has been openly politicking for Jack Ciattarelli, slammed Spadea for a discussion on his now defunct television show “Chasing News”, where he spoke to a guest panel about vaccine mandates in schools.
When talking to the dissenting panelist, Spadea asked a devil’s advocate question, to provoke a response.
“Isn’t it…on the other side, two, where is the conversation about just saying schools and public places can say, look, if you haven’t been immunized, you don’t have your shots, you can’t come,” Spadea said, asking the theoretical question.
Throughout the entire segment, Spadea maintained his opposition against the vaccine mandate.
However, Tobacco took a well-timed cut from that segment to make it appear that Spadea was calling for schools and businesses to block the non-immunized. If you watch the entire clip, you will see that this is not what happened. It was a talk show host trying to get a dissenting opinion to speak on the topic.
X users came to Spadea’s defense, and he called Tobacco a ‘fraud’.
The Middletown School Board is embroiling itself in political beefs across the Jersey Shore, all while a coach had sex with a student and the district is being sued for the suicide of a young teen. Maybe Tobacco should focus more on the kids in Middletown and less on working the campaign for Jack Ciattarelli.
“She’s a fraud. Ignore the noise,” Spadea said to the hyperpartisan school board official, who allegedly used to be a book reviewer. More on that later.
“It is just indicative of his true character—wanting mandates and punishments like high insurance premiums for people who don’t think the way he does?” Tobacco said. “That kind of thinking is what you should fear. It is also a perfect response to Bill’s constant abuse of Jack for getting the Covid vax…which was 5 years ago…no gaslighting here just another character reveal.”
